Advanced ERCP Interventions

Non-Surgical Calculus Removal

Allows complete extraction of bile and pancreatic duct stones without open incisions.

Fluoroscopic Precision

Utilizes high-resolution X-ray screening for micro-level surgical precision.

Stenting Solutions

Placement of plastic and self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) for biliary blockages.

Minimal Recovery Time

Most patients are mobilized within hours and discharged in 1–2 days.

Clinical Indications for ERCP

  • Common Bile Duct (CBD) Stones
  • Obstructive Jaundice
  • Cholangitis (Bile Duct Infection)
  • Pancreatic Duct Stones
  • Biliary Strictures (Narrowing)
  • Choledochal Cyst
  • Bile Duct Tumors (Palliation)
  • Post-cholecystectomy Bile Leak
  • Pancreatic Pseudocysts
  • Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction

The ERCP Procedure Steps

01

Sedation & Scope Insertion

Patient is given IV sedation. A flexible duodenoscope is passed into the second part of the duodenum.

02

Cannulation of Bile Duct

The bile duct opening (ampulla of Vater) is identified and a thin catheter is inserted.

03

Contrast Injection & X-Ray

Contrast dye is injected under fluoroscopy to visualize the biliary tree on a live X-ray screen.

04

Stone Removal / Stenting

CBD stones are extracted using Dormia baskets or balloons. Strictures are treated with stenting.
